We had to do a return as the wand part was not working properly. But the return went very smoothly and quickly. The new one works the way it is supposed to. Very nice to have for our oven and our grill.
It is a nice Thermometer. Worth every penny.

The good aspects of this thermometer are that you can attach it (by magnet) to your stove front and that you can set your target temperature and have it beep to tell you you've reached it. Of course, this is what you want in a digital thermometer.
Two problems: one is that you can't ever turn it off (unless you want to take out the battery), and so it's unnecessarily using the battery; the second is that the probe is EXTREMELY sensitive. I'm on my third probe in a few months. Do NOT use with the GRILL except to check the temperature and then take it out. You can not use it with the grill lid closed. I did not see this in the instructions anywhere. My second broke inexplicably. You'll know it's broken when the temperature will read only LOW or HIGH.
I have to get replacement probes (for $10) via mail because no local stores carry them.
So just know you must treat the probe with kid gloves and you'll be OK.

I ordered this thermometer/timer based on the strength of the positive reviews. It is an excellent timer, functionally very easy and intuitive to use. I even checked the accuracy of the temperature probe prior to use, and it was very good (read 32 degrees exactly; boiling was 2 degrees low--really quite good for an inexpensive device!) However, despite being very careful about routing the temperature probe cord away from the grill grates and up/away from the flames, the probe immediately died when I tried to use it on some thick steaks. I assume the heat (550 degrees inside the grill) was too much for it. I don't know how others got it to work (some did, some did not)--perhaps it is poor quality control, and some probes are OK, but this one is going back....Customer Review: Love it! Can't live without it!

I received this little gadget as a gift several years ago. Because of my absent-mindness I set it on a hot stove and it melted causing me to purchase another one. In the few weeks without it, I needed it several times. I always use it to cook steaks on a grill inside, make sure chicken is done, etc. It is one of my favorite kitchen tools. I also love the alarm feature that tells me when the meat has reached a certain temperature. I love this thing and it really is a great gift idea for anyone who cooks not just those who love to cook!
